Reception Party instead of a Wedding?

so i recently married and me and my husband decided that we would just have the wedding next year for all of our friends and family.. ( we went to court house by the way) .. but the more we talk about it the more it seems like a waist of money .. this whole wedding thing. so we got to talking about it and decided we could just have a huge wedding reception party i can still get my big cake just not the dress.. and there are pros and cons to this.. i always wanted a big dress but whats the point really all that money for a dress i will wear once. so we figured we could just have this party and spend a good chunk on an amazing honeymoon . how should i do a reception without a wedding its kinda wierd to me and do you think the reception is even a good idea will people even come to just a party. right now its up in the there and we want to have it on our one year anniversary. maybe we could just renew our vowels. i dont know i kinda like the idea but then again dissapointed i wont be able to have the wedding of my dreams. but a really nice honey moon souds amazing especially cause we didnt have the money this year for one. so what do you think. i need help ideas thing to do at just a party. send pics . send links anything i am so confused. my email is kris_mccown88@yahoo.com if you dont want to post anything on here and i also need help on what kind of dress would i wear to the party!! thanks!!
