First off, Right on with your career choice! Learn a second language. This will help alot on your resume. Probably Spanish. Take a Citizens Academy in your local city. And do some ride alongs every month. One of the most important questions they will ask you when you have your Oral Board Interview will be " What have you done to prepare yourself for a career in Law Enforcement? " So be ready to respond with like three to four bulletin points. Other than that, check out some volunteer programs to give back to the community.
