Please help guys and girls!!MAJOR CONFUSION!!?

okay so i really like this guy. But a ton of girls like him, we're both freshman and hang out all the time. He texts me almost every night, i think he likes me but idk at all, maybe hes just that nice to every girl. So we flirt a lot and give each other hugs and everything but i have no idea if he likes me. Were close friends so i want to tell him but if he doesnt like me it would be really weird. Sadie Hawkins dance is at the end of the month and i want to ask him. He's grinded with me 3 times before and we slow danced once (at previous dances). I have a feeling lots of girls like him and are thinking about asking him, and if he goes with someone else then i prob cant dance with him. advice please i have no idea what to do..thanks:)
